Bill is responsible for paralegal duties, e-document management, databases, file management and is known as “MacGyver” because of his ingenuity.

Bill’s first introduction to the legal industry was in 1985 copying documents for Dalkon Shield litigation.  Since then he has assisted attorneys with reinsurance litigation, insurance litigation, asbestos litigation, class actions, environmental litigation, general business litigation, personal injury and property damage litigation.

  • (Mary Doe) v. (John Doe)(Jackson County Circuit Court, Missouri).  Bench trial, judgment for client.
  • Slayton, et al. v. AMOCO Oil Co., et al.(Jackson County Circuit Court, Missouri).  Jury awarded clients $1 million in punitive damages and $50,000 in compensatory damages.
  • City of Independence, et al. v. AMOCO Oil Co. Petrovic, et al. v. AMOCO Oil(United States District Court, Western District of Missouri). Clients settled consolidated class actions for $7.6 million prior to trial.
  • Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. v. Travelers Ins. Co.(United States District Court, Western District of Missouri). Jury verdict for client.
  • Craig Outdoor Advertising, Inc. et al v. Viacom Outdoor, Inc. et al.(United States District Court Western District of Missouri). Jury awarded clients $9.4 million in punitive damages and $990,000 in actual damages.
  • Shackelford, et al.vs. John Chezik Homerun, et al.(Clay County Circuit Court, Missouri). Jury awarded class clients $8.4 million in actual and punitive damages.  Post-trial awards of $2.8 million in legal fees and $4.8 million in pre-judgment interest. Bill was subpoenaed to testify at deposition and again at trial regarding database and document management issues.
  • Raytheon v. U.S.A.(United States District Court, Kansas). During trial, Bill was called to testify regarding document management issues.
  • City of Kansas City, Missouri v. Trizec Corporation, Ltd., et al.(Jackson County Circuit Court). Jury verdict in favor of client against one of two defendants.
  • Provided assistance to attorneys pursuing personal injury/wrongful death lawsuits caused by environmental contamination.  Litigation ended with a global $20+ million settlement for clients.
